Kelly Holmes joins Personal Group Holdings as Ambassador
Posted on: Thursday March 03, 2022
Olympic champion Kelly Holmes (pictured) has been named chief wellbeing ambassador by Personal Group Holdings (PGH).
The insurance company said that Holmes will be helping to guide the organisation’s wellbeing strategy.
“For many years, Personal Group has been increasingly focused on supporting the wellbeing of workforces – both our own team and the customers we serve – encouraging them to thrive at work and in life. In the next great stride forward in this mission, we are thrilled to be appointing Holmes as our chief wellbeing ambassador for this year. She is our inspiration for proving what determination, resilience and taking responsibility for your own mental and physical wellbeing can do,” the company said in a statement.
Deborah Frost, PGH Chief Executive Officer, said that aside from the appointment of Holmes, the company will also significantly extend the wellbeing offering available on its workforce benefits platform, which Holmes also helped develop.
“Holmes’ appointment and our new wellbeing content, which is available for clients as a ‘Transform’ module in our Hapi Benefits platform, increases the breadth of Personal Group’s workforce benefits offering and underlines our commitment to providing our clients with the tools they need to support their people in a truly meaningful way,” Frost said.
Holmes, a retired athlete who won the 800 metres and 1,500 metres events at the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics, expressed excitement at her new role.
“I’m extremely excited to be working with Personal Group, as chief wellbeing ambassador, to help organisations better provide their people with the tools they need to thrive both in and outside the workplace,” Holmes said.
In 2005, Holmes was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire. She was also made an honorary colonel, and later became a motivational speaker, and author.
“Throughout my career, I have found a common thread across the worlds of international sport, service in the British Army and working with businesses; namely, the need to normalise the conversation around Mental Health awareness. I have seen first-hand the benefits that meaningful physical and mental wellbeing support brings, both for individual workers and for the culture of the businesses as a whole,” Holmes said.
